14 Dec Looking back on the first half of the season
After the Euros in Berlin we had to switch quickly and prepare for 3 upcoming World Cups. I was forced to take a step back for 1 week because of my crash at the Euros. After that I started training for the first World Cup in Pruszkow, Poland. I think I was not completely recovered from that crash, but I went home with a PR at 200m and a fourth place at the Keirin.
After 1 day and a half at home we went to World Cup number two in Manchester. This one went a lot better with 2 fourth places on the Teamsprint and Sprint and a silver medal on the Keirin! Besides that I also improved my second lap time on the Teamsprint and again my PR at the 200m.
Now we had a longer break (two weeks) before heading to the last World Cup. This one was a little bit further away than Pruszkow and Manchester, it was in Milton, Canada. We went there with a small, but succesful team. On every race part we started we managed to win a medal. I won a silver medal on the Sprint and a bronze medal on the Keirin.
rebuilding towards the final goal of this season, namely: the World Championships in Apeldoorn
All in all, I look back with great satisfaction on the past period and I have taken the steps I wanted to take! After a more relaxed week, I am now slowly rebuilding towards the final goal of this season, namely: the World Championships in Apeldoorn! I will ride the National Championships at the end of this year and I will also be present at the Six Days of Rotterdam, early next year.
Will I see you there?
