Christmas & National Championship

Last week was, besides normal training, about family, having fun, good food and the Dutch National Championship. We also made a quick trip to Winterberg. As a way of ‘alternative training’ we went skiing.

National Championship

The Dutch Championship started for me immediately after Boxing Day with the 500m. This resulted in a bronze medal. Not entirely dissatisfied, since last weeks have been particularly heavy for the ultimate goal: the World Championships in Apeldoorn. The next day we had the Sprint tournament. I qualified 4th and eventually became third in the race, so again a bronze medal.

The Keirin would start the day after. Wenn I woke up I did not feel completely fit. Therefor I canceled the tournament in consultation with the National Coach. In January we will have an intensive training program again so it was better for me not to start. Too bad, because you do not often drive a Keirin with such a strong Dutch selection.

I can not wait to see what 2018 will bring

All in all it has been a very good, constructive year for me and I can not wait to see what 2018 will bring!

Greets,
